Forrest Yoga®

Forrest Yoga is renowned globally as a powerfully physical, internally focused Ceremonial yoga practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience from the yoga mat into daily life. It has a unique and dynamic philosophy the way it approaches yoga. Forrest Yoga is based in Hatha Yoga and was created by Ana Forrest 40 years ago. She continues to evolve the system, feeling and listening to the people’s needs. Forrest Yoga® is a dynamic practice which aims to relieve our pain – physical, emotional and mental – and to soothe our nervous system. In every Forrest Yoga® class we deliberately work with the main pain points our people experience, such as neck, knees and low back, closed shoulders and hips. These pressure points are the result of working on the computer for many hours and can lead to injuries and pain.

The powerful Forrest Yoga® abdominals are healing for our digestive system. They heal and empower the back and help relieve pains and traumas we may carry there. Ana Forrest describes how modern people are suffering with digestive issues because of the food they eat: “The poor quality food stays there resulting in creating a toxic swap that weakens our immune system and literally blurs our thoughts.” The intent of this practice is to free and oxygenate our whole system! The different breathing techniques in every class, the different and creative sequencing of poses and the spots we work will help us build a healthy and strong body. Forrest Yoga® is for everyone and for all ages. It doesn’t require strength or flexibility.

The magic of this practice is that it teaches you how to step into life applying the tools of yoga in your everyday problems and needs. Forrest Yoga requires a willingness to feeling so that we can learn to face challenges with authenticity and honesty.
